Theme: Fall Harvest/ Corn

Our theme of November is FALL HARVEST/ CORN.

Children are full of wonder as the world changes around in the fall. Lots of crops are ripe and ready to eat in the fall. Some animals migrate and many animals become much less active in the late fall.

English Activities

This is the life cycle of a corn. Corn grows on a stalk. It has four main parts. They are the cob, husk, silk, and kernels. Corn needs hot summers, rich soil, and plenty of rain to grow.

How many cobs of corn grow under the husks? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Let's make a corn craft with beads! It is not a small work but I can do it.

Do you like the corn i made?

"What can we do with the corn kernels?" " We can make some pop corn." "What do we need to make pop corn?" "We need butter, salt, corn kernels and heat."

Ya! Pop corn is ready! Pop corn is so delicious. I can't stop eating it!

Children, do you know what is the first Thanksgiving? It was long time ago, a group of people in England escaped the rule of the King and his church. They sailed on a Mayflower and shipped across the Atlantic for 6 weeks to land in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Later on, Native Americans helped them to settle down and taught them skills to survive in this new land. Next fall, Pilgrims had a great harvest and they planed a big feast. They invited the Native Americans to the feast because of their helps. This feast lasted three days.

What is Veterans Day? This day honors the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our nation’s armed forces. Do you know what do the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard look like?

It's our favorite Show-N-Tell Day. "O" is for onion. Wow! It smells.

"O" is for octopus. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight. An octopus has eight legs.

"T" is for Turkey. I am gluing eyes for my paper turkey!

I found all the beginning sounds of the pictures.

I can spell the words with the movable alphabets.

I am trying to spell the word of pictures and trace the initial sound of each word.

I can copy a book by writing the words.

I chose to copy this book.

Character Development of Month

"Kindness"

“Values are the things you believe in. They guide the way you think, you speak, you behave. They also help you to live your life in a meaningful way.”

Kindness is thinking about another person's feelings, treating others the way we want to be treated, helping someone who is in need, never expecting anything in return, and making people happier.

God said:" You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Do you know that there was a good Samaritan? He help a Jewish who is stripped of clothing, beaten, and left half dead alongside the road. He washed the man’s wounds, took him to the nearest inn, and took a good care of him......

I will do as the good Samaritan, love my neighbor, even my enemy.

How can we be kind to our friends in school? Is it kind to grab a toy from my friend's hand? Is it kind to teasing our friends?

Here is our Kindness Mail Box. we can send our kindness to whoever we love and loves us.

I like my friend and I am going to write a card to her!

Now I need to mail my card to my friend.

I got mail! Let me check where it came from!

Thank you my dear friend, you are so kind to me.

Something is in your shoe. I will check it for you and help you to put it back.

Are you ok? I will give you a hand!

”He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"

——Micah 6:8 ESV
